JAV Studio Code Generations: Full Reference Table (2025-2026)
MissTK JAV Guide · Last updated 2026-06-03
TL;DR Seeing less "SSIS" and more "SONE"? That’s the same studio (S1) doing a "code generation" hand-off — when a code’s number approaches 999, the studio activates a new letter prefix. This article lists current active codes (2025-2026) for major studios against their predecessors, and how to find the latest work by code.
After a while watching JAV, you may notice a code you knew (e.g. "SSIS") fading out, replaced by something new (e.g. "SONE"). The studio didn’t shut down — codes go through "generations". This article maps each major studio’s current active codes, their predecessors, and how the hand-off works.
The numeric part of a JAV code typically runs from 001 to 999. As it approaches 999, the studio activates a "next generation" letter code to continue numbering. For example, S1’s tantai works went SSNI (to SSNI-999) → SSIS (to SSIS-999) → SONE (active 2024-). The studio is the same — only the letter prefix changes.
So when you see a "new code you’ve never seen before", don’t panic; it’s usually just the next-generation hand-off after an old code maxed out.

Why new codes don’t always continue the old numbering
Some studios restart at 001 with a new code (e.g. SONE-001 onwards); others continue from where the previous code left off. There’s no universal rule — each studio sets its own numbering policy. The key thing for viewers: old-code works don’t disappear — they remain on platforms and on MissTK, just without new entries.
How to find the latest in a series using codes
Three steps:
Type the studio code (no number) into the MissTK search (e.g. "SONE"). You’ll get all works under that code, most platforms default to newest-first.
If results are empty, the code may have just transitioned; try the studio’s previous-generation code (e.g. try "SSIS").
Not sure which code is currently active? Search the studio name (e.g. "S1", "MOODYZ") to see the full catalogue.
Popular amateur & series labels (number-prefixed codes)
Besides the major studios above, you'll often see codes that start with a 3-digit number (200…, 300…, 348…, 420…, 865…). These are mostly amateur (shirouto) or kikaku (scripted-scenario) series, distributed largely through MGS rather than a studio's exclusive-actress works. The leading number is a maker/distributor ID; the letters identify the series.

FAQ
Does seeing "SSIS" mean a work is dated?
No. SSIS is S1’s previous generation (winding down), SONE is the current one. SSIS titles still circulate and are still classics; only new works use SONE.
Why do some studios never change codes (e.g. STARS)?
STARS is a long-running SOD series code, with numbering extending past 1000 (STARS-1000+). There’s no universal "999 ceiling" — each studio sets its own policy.
How do I figure out which studio a code belongs to?
MissTK and most JAV databases label the studio in search results. If unsure, drop the code into MissTK search — the results page usually shows the studio.
